National Chocolate Cake Day.....

This post has absolutely no life-altering value to it other than to inform people it's National Chocolate Cake Day, and, allow me the chance to write about something utterly ridiculous.

Personally, I hate chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, but marvel at these new "National" days/months.

Did you know January was National Tea month? If you didn't, do you plan on rushing out to your local tea shop or grocery store and stock up? [If you do, please let me know. I'd love to know I can influence someone].

I have to admit, I am a tea drinker. Coffee isn't my thing, but because so many people do, I bet it gets multiple months, if not an entire year.

The thing about these 'national' days for random items is that I want to know who gets to declare January 27th as National Chocolate Cake Day? Why do I want to know? Because I want that power (especially, if you get paid to make such declarations).

I'd also love to have the job where I get to name lipsticks, paint colors and be the person at OPI that comes up with their great nail polish names. Does anyone know how I score this type of job? I've love to know.

I wish I knew. What great jobs to be the one who names things. To have lots of those jobs at once. Career: Namer. What companies have you worked for? Revlon, Loreal, the Federal Government's Calendar Unit, Baskin Robbins...

I like my homemade vanilla butter frosting with Chocolate cake. NOT Chocolate frosting. I want the contrasts. There. Now that I have given you an absolutely useless response, I'll go back to fixing my pot roast dinner.

At least it is better than National Zucchini Day (August 8) otherwise known as "Sneak Some Zucchini onto Your Neighbors' Porch Day."

Somehow I think give your neighbor a chocolate cake day is a better idea!

JeannetteLS -I shared your comment with my husband and he laughed as well.

Btw, I agree about the contrast.

Enjoy the pot roast!

@Dan, I am a fan of the zucchini, but I think it might be easier to put the zucchini in the neighbor's mailbox. However, I wonder what I'd do/think if I found a random zucchini in mailbox or on my porch.

I for one cannot wait to celebrate. Along with adult beverage of some sort.

I would like to name hurricanes or make up the track listing for random compilation albums, so I know what you mean about naming nail polishes!

DB - a nice red wine or pina colado goes well with chocolate.

P - I forgot about naming hurricanes - another great job.

Brian - June 14th is National Strawberry Shortcake day - are you planning on sending me some?

I am holding out for the job of deciding the Google Doodles.

DB - That would only be fun if I knew how to program the doodle.

Liz - I'm guessing Betty Crocker :-)

Joanna - It'd make me happier if it were white cake/white frosting day (and when I say white cake, I don't mean vanilla -- sooooo very different and not nearly as tasty).
