Rant and Rave Wednesday

Wednesday, February 20, 2010....

Any readers following me on a regular basis know if it's Wednesday, it's time to Rant and Rave about the past week. Without further adieu, here are my Rants and Raves from the past week:

Rave: I won $300 in Saturday's Powerball jackpot. My sister and I have played for a couple of years and have never hit anything over $30.

Rant: Job with recruiter was a bust.

Rave: In a giveaway, I won some 18 Rabbits granola bars. After an exchange with 18 Rabbits and my local Whole Foods (who I thought I was requesting rabbit meat), 18 Rabbits has offered to send some additional bars to me so my friends can sample and write Whole Foods.

Rave: I got to talk with Green-Eyed Momster yesterday. It is great when you get to put a voice with a fellow blogger.

Rant: A lady at my local grocery store decided she was ENTITLED to create her own makeshift parking spot....which happened to be perpendicular to my car...right behind my car. She saw me and DID NOT MOVE. In order to properly exit the parking lot, I ended up driving over the curb. If I could give out a 'bitch slap' award, she would be my recipient.

Rave: Speaking of awards, Green-Eyed Momster gave me the Kreativ Award. I still have to honor Heather from Going from Fat to Well Rounded bestowed the Happy 101 Award and will do both in one post.

Rave: Coffee with a friend on Friday at this great little place. I hadn't seen her in awhile and it was nice to catch up in person.

Rave: Coffee and a photo exhibit by Milt Hinton with another friend over the weekend. I hadn't seen her since December so it was really great to catch up.

Rant: My new neighbor (who I believe is flipping the house) is doing amazing things. However, it would be nice to get notice that your electricity will be turned off instead of finding out while in the shower. The CL&P guys must have had a good laugh when they saw this woman come out with a towel head to go off on them.

That's it for me. I would love to read any Rants and Raves you want to share? Just click on the linky thing for anyone that wants to participate in Rant and Rave Wednesday -- or leave them in the comments section here. Please be respectful and do not use the linky thing if you are just promoting your blog (yes, this is another Rant of mine).

When cars park like that I want to plow into them, but that wrecks my car and raises my insurance rates.

I still have to write mine, but I'll be up shortly. I'm full of rants today... it's just that kind of day.
Glad to see yours was mostly raves!

I'm still sputtering over the $300 win. That would be so fun to win some money. It is the idea of winning more than the amount I think. Tell me what Green Eyed Momster sounds like to you. I haven't talked to many people and you're right, it is fun to put a voice to a name. You sound like you kept your cool though when the woman created her own parking space. Shows which one of you has class and I hope she realizes it isn't her.

Too bad about the recruiter bust. I may be the only person in the world who has never used a recruiter, so no advice from me.

What you need to do is make the $300 win add some 000's at the end and you won't have to find a job. Say $300,000,000 to start? {*grin*}

Hey there. I am avoiding any rants right now. It feels good, but man people are testy.

I however can rave that I have a sweet return coming after a very rough 2009.

I am hoping for more wins on your part.

congratulations on winning the $300...good luck in the job hunt

I'm extremely jealous of your Lotto win - my husband brought home a scratchers ticket the other day. I was one teeny-tiny-itty-bitty scratcher square away from winning $25,000...but I ended up winning nothing instead. Not quite as exciting.

Rave: Watching it snow today and working from home. Knew I would be working from home so I turned off the alarm and popped an Ambien last night.

Rant: Having to dig out of this tomorrow.

Rave: Boss is off tomorrow.

Crazy that you had to drive over the curb. You said that she saw you - so was she within some kind of shouting distance when you parked the car?

Property values must be rising in your neighborhood, if he's flipping the house. That could be a good sign!

Ugh I hate people who can't drive... or park. Sometimes I feel I'm the only good driver on the road... but I'm sure the people I cut off would feel differently.

Hon, it was so nice to see you on my blog the other day. Congratulations on your win! how lovely is that? I hope you bought something thoroughly decadent with it like new shoes! ;O)

You won $300? That is awesome!

I can't believe they didn't tell you about the electricity. And it cut off while you were in the shower? That's Murphy's Law at work.

Vodka Logic – EXACTLY!!!!! I feel the same, but stop for the same reasons.

rxBambi – Lucky week, but it’s good to get your rants off your chest.

TechnoBabe – It was fun, but I think I was more surprised to get 4 numbers. Green-Eyed Momster has this really, really mean voice (totally kidding). Actually, the two things you can tell when you talk to her is that 1) she has a lot of energy; and 2) she’s really happy.

Dan – I am hopeful that I will be on a winning streak and will win BIG the next time I play.

Lyn – A sweet routine is exactly like winning LOTTO. I’m hoping for the same!

The Peach Tart – Thanks and thanks. I am hopeful the economy will turn around soon.

Kate – Oh man, I would have been so bummed if I were in your shoes --- YOU WON NOTHING. That is just wrong.

DB – Oh the woman knew I was there, saw my expression and, in fact, jumped out of her car when she saw my backup lights on. Beotch.

Secretia – My ex neighbors had to sell because of divorce and took a real beating. I love how the house is looking, but hate how mine is looking now. No work will be happening on mine until I’m employed again.

Angie – Okay, this comment made me laugh a lot!

Helen – ummm…no I wish I did, but alas it went to nonfun items like bills.

Tracie – Apparently they knocked on my door while I was in the shower. Hmmm….not much notice.

Brian – It was sweet. I think I was excited just to win more than $3 or $7

Jules – Thanks.

Rave - I get to see my second Kelly Clarkson gig tomorrow, dinner at one of my fave restaurants with one of my fave people on Friday and then a mad night out at an eighties bar with my friends and sister on Saturday.

Rant - when do I get some sleep? I'm still exhausted from the Manchester blogger meet up last weekend... :(

first time here - I was over visiting green-eyed momster's place and followed the link.
I like the simple rant and rave balanced approach. I might give it a try next week.

I'm sorry you lost your power, that is the worst! Coffee catch-ups sound great! We will have to do one, right?

PS. I have not purchased any of the watercolors I featured today but I think I am going to as soon as I can decide the perfect spot!

300 bucks! Sweet. Lucky you! Also, sorry about the job. Something will turn up soon though. I just know it.

$300 - awesome. I get excited when I get $2 from a scratch-off. And wow, talking to a fellow blogger...I'm still so excited when I get bloggy emails. =)

I'm so jealous that you won $300 in the lottery! I bought my ticket last Friday and was all set to give my manager the finger when I became a millionaire. I only won $3. Boo.

Little Ms Blogger said...

P – At least your lack of sleep is from doing really fun things.

Lisleman – Definitely!

Girl, inspired – We definitely have to do one. I really loved the watercolors.

Herding Cats – Thanks. I am hopeful 2010 will be a banner year!

Jaime – That is more than I’ve won in the past. I had to check the ticket several times before I realized I won.

Esmerelda – Who are you kidding? I love when I win anything!

Frogs in my formula – Maybe you will now!

Miss Yvonne – Would you feel better to know I had to use the $$ for bills and not fancy underwear.

if you won $300 and some granola bars surely soon you'll win you a job!!!

I hope you spent the money frivolously!!! Hugs!!!!

$300 bucks? and rabbits too (well, you know what I mean) I love winning stuff.

I can't believe you have so many rants about the way people park. You had to go over the curb? I would be beyond upset.

Coffee with friends is awesome; makes me want to do it too.

Andrea said...

I will rant with you over the idiot who parked you in. I would have been back in the store demanding that they do an overhead announcement for the idiot to come move his or her car!! You were too nice!

Rant: My as*hole ex, who is being an a** again about my son.
Rave: two days not having to go in to the office due to the blizzard.
Rant: missing some time with my son because of the snow.
Rave: a husband who can get over his ego to end a disagreement peacefully.
