I've been told dreams are a window to your soul, and many times, they hold the answer to some problems you may be trying to resolve. I actually agree with this statement.
In the past, I've had some dreams that were incredibly insightful, but last night left me wondering what the message was.
Last night I dreamt I was asked by a pole dancing agent [Note: I've never taken a pole dancing class] that she wanted to book me for some guy's bachelor party who was looking for an Oriental girl [Note: I'm French Canadian and about 5'7", so petite is not a word used to describe me].
Apparently, all her girls were booked and it was between me and her husband. He resembled Ernest Borgnine [Note: In my dream Ernest Borgnine was actually her husband.].
The client wanted me [Note: It's nice to know I beat out a 93 year old MAN for a pole dancing gig].
In the end, I didn't take the job -- hmmm....not that shocked, but WTH???? Why am I dreaming about pole dancing and Ernest Borgnine? I had fluke for dinner that my husband caught last weekend fishing off the coast of Rhode Island. I wonder if the fish was swimming in some scary contaminated waters for me to have a dream like that.
[Note: Until this morning when I looked up the correct spelling of Borgnine, I thought Ernest Borgnine was dead. He's not according to what I researched. Mr. Borgnine, if you read my blog, I apologize for thinking you were dead.]

You probably had Earnest confused with Ed McMahon. After all, all big guys look alike. {*grin*}
At least you were wanted in your dream. How ego crushing would it have been to have lost out to a 93 year old dude as a pole dancer?
I am in awe of Ernest Borgnine and his wife. She has a line of cosmetics and he goes with her and she does demos on his face. True love.
obviously it means you should not be concerned, opportunities will come, just be wise in your choosing...smiles.
Maybe somewhere you in subconscious you wanted to be a pole dancer or it could be that you were in the "Out of tune" contest & ur mind kinda mixed them together?? I dunno. I love wacked out dreams. hehe. =)
I have no idea what it means, but I find it hilarious. I'm pregnant, so I'm having all kinds of crazy dreams.
okay so pole dancing = showing off your body, which is something that is obviously out of your element so it can be that you are about to come up against something that is out of your element and may make you feel exposed.
Having to be against someone for the job may relate to you feeling that you and/or your body is in direct competition with someone else.
seeing as you were also mistaken for oriental this my also mean that you believe others dont see you for who you truly are.
and that Earnest guy? well i have no idea who he is so i cant help you there. whataya think? i should do this for a living or something! :)
Constar's analysis was interesting... I also think dreams tell us something about ourselves--usually our fears, secret hopes, real feelings, that sort of thing. The one thing I don't see in your description was how all this made you feel. Were you flattered? Disgusted? Scared? Did you think that you were overqualified--or just turn it down because you knew you'd make a fool out of yourself? (one of those "I could never do that" moments)
I always try to identify what the dream made me feel, and then see if it applies to something I'm dealing with in life.
That is one amazing dream!
You know, Ernest Borgnine credits his long life to lots of masturbation.
Think about that before you go to sleep.
Maybe this dream simply means you should become a pole dancer...LOL. I do like Constar's interpretation - it actually makes some sense.
It's understandable that you thought Ernest B. was dead. I met him in the mid-1960's, and he was old then.
Well - according to Dreammoods.com:
"To dream that you are pole dancing, symbolizes your sexual expression. You need to be more open and expressive with your sexuality. The pole is a phallic symbol. Thus the dream may be analogous to some that you have wrapped around your finger."
You go girl!
that is one freaky dream. it seems like it might mean that some kind of job or opportunity will come your way and maybe after thinking about it or something you decide its not for you.
