Awards Sunday

Sunday, October 11, 2009.....

If I'm posting on Sunday, it must mean another Blogger Awards Sunday. Host: LMB dressed in her finest bathrobe. Setting: Sitting in front of laptop, properly accepting a lovely award from another blogger and paying it forward.

Today's award is from Living and Loving in LA. She may not even remember bestowing the Sugar Doll Award, but I haven't forgotten....okay, I'm just slow. Heck, I was busy the past month and a half doing lots of nothing....

Without further adieu, lets get down to the show. I must now, according to the rules, tag 10 other bloggers and list 10 interesting facts about myself. Assuming you can handle such information, here goes nothing:

1. I need a lot of pillows to sleep. I've been known to steal from others. Wait. I don't steal, I openly take them from others. Two pillows is NOT enough.

2. I trained dogs for the circus to jump through hoops of fire. Okay, I didn't. But, it sounds much more interesting than telling you at one point in my life I was in the insurance industry.

3. I don't drink real coffee. Mocha, caramel yes. But, I'm a tea drinker.

4. I have never watched a Rocky movie and plan to go through life without seeing one.

5. I own a small wine collection which include some 1965 Chilean wines and 73 Saint Emilions.

6. I was in the Guiness Book of World Records in 2006 as being part of the most sea kayakers launching simultaneously (303) - heck, the event is even in Wikipedia.

7. I'm a big lover of Guiness (figured I'd tied this one in to #6).

8. I have a friend that can touch her nose with her tongue (look everything doesn't have to be about me)....

9. I love old movie classics.

10. I used to love peanut butter and pickle sandwiches as a kid.

The 10 bloggers I choose to know more about are:

McGillicutty
Goose
Adorably Distracted
kk
The Sorority
Stereos & Souffles
Lola
very married
neske
Eyes Wide Open

I can't wait to know more about you.

Update: I just read Edder and was informed the I Shoulda Been a Stripper Award should really be the Premium Meme Award and asked that the bunny be replaced with the right award, correct picture.

Ooh, wine collection! I'm always intrigued when people have impressive (even if small) ones. How does one even get started becoming a wine connoisseur? And isn't it, like, the most pressure in the world to have nice, old bottles of wine and know you need to save them for the right moment, but cannot wait too long or they'll turn to vinegar?

The original Rocky is a classic! If you love classic movies, you should watch it. The rest of them are hokie, but the first one is really a work of art!

I believe you're becoming kind of an award whore. Just sayin'.

I'm not a coffee drinker either. Never have.

I agree with Otin. The first Rocky movie is well worth seeing. It really isn't about boxing, although that's the backdrop for the movie. It's about reaching your dreams. That the underdog really can make it if they put their heart and soul into it.

Love your list - you sound like a heck of a lot of fun. Little bit jealous of your wine collection.

Dree said...

Congratulations on your award! Very interesting about the Guinness book of world records! And I believed the hoops of fire thing there for a second until I read on. Lol!

Deborah said...

You should try a Rocky movie...LOL... I loved Rocky movies..maybe I should never admit to that!!!
Happy Sunday!

Congratulations on your award! I would love to have a wine collection but that means buying it and not drinking it and it's just too much temptation sitting there. And I also love Guiness (we are talking about the beer, right?!) But only warm, the way it's supposed to be. =]

thank you for the award! I just love getting awards. They make me feel special!

I am definitely a tea drinker too. I'll drink the fancy coffees too, but tea is definitely my drink of choice. I also think Guinness stuff is cool and it's very cool you were part of a record!

The Guiness Book of World Records!!!!! You are my hero! How cool is that.
Thanks for sharing. It's great getting to know you better.

I love me some peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. I knew all the cool kids ate them.

Peanut butter and pickle, you crazy thing!

Congrats on your award and congrats to the winners! Great answers! #6 is so exciting! :)
I just saw Otin's comment and I have to agree. #1 is the only one worth seeing.

Hugs!!

I'm intrigued by the wine as well, and trying to remember if we live any where close to each other... you know... in case you'd like to open a bottle with your bloggy friend... meaning me...
I think it's awesome you're in the GBWR. I remember reading that as a kid in the school library and the picture the stands out the most is the Japanese guy with the long curly fingernails.
Congrats on the award
oh and "Yo Adrienne!"

Great exposee. These always get my mind moving on what I would say. Guess I'll tuck that away for another day.

Not only do I own all the Rocky movies, I own all the Rambo movies.
And I aggree with one of the above commenters, the first Rocky is the best as is the first Rambo. The first Rambo is awesome, but then that's just me.
I like action movies where the underdog wins. But not scary movies.

Congrats on the award.

I can't believe you're in the guiness book of world records, that IS interesting.

I can tell you wouldn't last long here. Coffee should be real, black, and strong enough to need no cup. {*grin*}

Heckety said...

That was an Ace selection of 'like to knows!' I've always wanted to be able to touch my nose with my tongue but all my tongue does is talk for Ireland...My girls consider that a handicap for them as I talk to all their friends and am a dreadful embarassment, so really being able to touch my nose would keep it out of trouble...no?

Helen McGinn said...

I don't know, I can see you training circus dogs to jump through hoops. Now, to that wine collection...when am I getting an invite? I'll bring you a hamper, you provide the wine! :O)

Nothatkindofgirlblog – Wine Spectator Magazine is a good place to start. Wine tastings and wine dinners. If one strikes your fancy buy one or two extra bottles and store them.

Otin – hmmm…I’ll think about. I did say I wanted to do/try 44 new things for my 44th year. Maybe this will make my list since it’s such a major shift in thinking for me.

McGillicutty – You’re welcome and it is well deserved.

Jules – Wow, I’ve never been called that. People forget and just say whore. I feel so special.

Matty - Okay, thinking about it.

Pseudonymous High School Teacher – Thanks and I’m actually surprised it still exists.

Dree – LOL…. I don’t think I could get any dog to listen to my command. I’m too much of a pushover.

Deborah – I know so many people that love Rocky. I guess I boycotted it because of ‘Yo Adrienne’

Spot – Guiness is a great winter drink. I’m always trying to get a job with them (US headquarter is in my town) because they have great perks.

Goose - You’re welcome – You are special.

Joanna – Funny thing was I didn’t know until the morning of the event when they took our picture. The whole event was so much fun.

Iasa – Really? I didn’t know anyone else to like them. They are yummy.

Unknown Miami – try it, you’ll like it.

Green-Eyed Momster - thanks. It was a great event

rxBambi – hey, new icon photo --- if you lived closer we could open some or you could help some of my other reds (I’m a white drinker) and I have a ton of reds.

Monkey Man – I’d be curious to read what you wrote.

Midtown Girl - Thanks, but I didn’t see the five words

Sunshine Mama - I’ve seen the Rambo ones – wait, aren’t there only 2 of them? I like First Blood , the other Rambo, not so hot.

Very married – Yay….it’s well deserved.

A corgi – thanks. You’re right Sunday was my anniversary. We celebrated Saturday night and had a low key Sunday.

Dan – LOL….Tea is not wimpy…

Heckety – It could keep you out of trouble, unless, you would do what my friend used to do and bet for beers in a bar.

Helen – If you come, I’d definitely open a bottle. I could only train a dog to jump up on the couch and be petted – non stop.

JennyMac – thanks….

Girl Inspired – thanks and I’ll email, but I will keep 11/12 open

Fgrngtllt – thanks and I am glad you rejoined the blogging world.

Eyes Wide Open – thanks for the award and isn’t Guiness YUM-MY….

Kyslp - thanks
