Rant and Rave Wednesday

Wednesday, October 21, 2009.....

Any readers following me on a regular basis know if it's Wednesday, it's time to Rant and Rave about the past week. Without further adieu, here are my Rants and Raves from the past week:

Rave: Tomorrow is my first Food Pantry Dinner Club. I've lost 6 lbs and will be donating 36 lbs of food to the local food pantry.

Rant: Jules and her out-of-tune Tuesdays this week. I have insomnia tonight and her version of When I'm 64 with wimpy-ass Ken in a pink car keeps going through my mind. Thanks a lot Jules.

Rave: My Brussels sprout plants are starting to sprout. I bet you're saying who cares --- well, I do.

Rant: I suck at blogging lately, but promise to do something about it.

Rave: I participated in a focus group the other night, but because I was an alternate, I had to wait 15 minutes before they decided they didn't need me and I was paid $100.

Rave: A meeting is setup with my mother's nursing home and the Ombudsman person tomorrow. There is a resolution to the issue with the resident who hits my mom that is far better than their original suggestion.

Rave: These were sent to me the other day from Cabela's -- the world's best slippers. They weren't supposed to arrive until today, but appeared on my doorstep 5 days early. My feet couldn't be happier.

Rave: Loving that the nights are getting are colder. I love to sleep with the window open. Sure, it drives hubby nuts, but I LOVE it (maybe if I didn't steal most of the blankets he'd appreciate it like I do).

Rave: Some bloggers (Midtown Girl, Tasha, Kys, Baker Girl and Jenny Mac) thought of me and my little blog. Each gave me a cool award which I will be posting about in a future post and I want to thank them. Thanks :-)

Rave: Apparently, the answers to my last meme have me appear as a very sweet and innocent blogger. Hmmmm...I like that.

That's it for me. Any Rants and Raves you want to share? I would love to read them. Just click on the linky thing. This way, I won't miss a person that wishes to post their own R&R Wednesday.

I am a huge fan of sleeping with the window open too! But lately it has been far too cold and I've been keeping it shut. Bummer!

I'm so proud of you for losing 6 lbs!
I think you have a new follower. :) He's a good guy but his sense of humor isn't for everyone.
You? suck at blogging? Never! How many awards did you get last week? Yep. You don't suck. I suck for blogging about my life lately.

Hugs!!

congrats on the 6 pounds!

please tell me you're doing something besides the 30 Day Shred because I haven't lost an iota on that thing.

Also, what product were you in focus groups for? We hold them all the time in Norwalk...

Send me some sprouts! So I can saute them in butter, then splash them with lemon juice and truffle oil.

Hmm. good luck with the meeting about your mom. If it doesn't work, I am willing to take a road trip and hit the person that hit your mom for you. That is crazy and wrong wrong wrong. And psst... you are an awesome blogger!

Kasabiangirl – LOL. Thanks for thinking of me that way.

Otin – I’m waiting for the day you do it. I think you should do it this week to inspire OP for her upcoming marathon.

Jules – Barry Manilow – ohhhhh I am so sorry.

Midtown Girl – At least the trucks would drown out the doggie from the neighbors place.

The Peach Tart – It was and I’m trying to make them better everyday.

Deborah – I’m very glad there is a resolution for my mom’s situation and 36 lbs is good, I just have to remember that.

New England Girl – I love sleeping with the window open no matter how cold it is out. I may steal all the blankets and comforters, but that’s hubby’s problem.

Badass – These are awesome

Spot – Thanks…

Smileyfreak – I used to wear the comfy socks, but the softness wore down after a couple of washings.

A corgi – I hadn’t either until now.

Green-eyed – I saw that and I’ve been slowly lurking back I n the blogging world and need to check him out.

Kk – Thanks. I did the Shred for about 3 days and then got side tracked, need to pick it up again, but have been doing other things.

Stereos & Souffles – Okay, that sounds AWESOME!

Kelly – LOL. Thanks. It went well and I don’t see it happening again.

OP – Thanks. Can’t wait to see you run on Sunday.

Fgrngtllt - Really, they come in and close your window???? I’d roll over and bite their hand

Kys – I love both. And, yes, that made sense.

JennyMac – Poor Ken. 1st no commitment from Barbie and then the wimpy ass car he’s stuck driving in.

Girl, inspired – Never? They can be good or bad depending upon how you cook them.
