Rant and Rave Wednesday

Wednesday, March 24, 2010....

Any readers following me on a regular basis know if it's Wednesday, it's time to Rant and Rave about the past week. Without further adieu, here are my Rants and Raves from the past week:

Rave: Got to see my old roomie from college this past weekend. Hubby and I drove up to have dinner with her and fiance and see her new home and puppy. We had a great time and we should not wait 1 1/2 years in between visits.

Rant: Her house is great! I'm not jealous, but floored at the difference in pricing between the northern and southern part of the state. Her house was almost triple in size with a full acre (I have 1/3 acre) and if I were to buy down here, well, I just couldn't.

Rant: Hubby snoring.....no sleep last night. Ugh...

Rave: The recent Spring weather we've been having (except past 2 days) but I'm OVER WINTER so I'm psyched. This means time to start planning our gardens.

Rant: On a planning committee for my local park's annual plant sale and the local papers are not calling back with their rate cards for ad space. Ugh. Seriously? I thought newspapers were hurting and I'm trying to give you business. CALL. ME. BACK. EMAIL. ME.

Okay, that's it for me. It's a short week because my brain is a bit fuzzy, but I would love to read any Rants and Raves you want to share? Just click on the linky thing for anyone that wants to participate in Rant and Rave Wednesday -- or leave them in the comments section here. Please, please be respectful and do not use the linky thing if you are just promoting your blog (yes, this is another Rant of mine).

It blows my mind how the housing market and prices are so different in different parts of the country. A few weeks ago we went to visit a friend in Michigan who just bought a 4500 sq ft house for $250,000! In my neighborhood, a 4500 sq ft house is twice that. It's hard not to be jealous, but at least I live in a thriving community!

Old classmates can be fun.

I still see my first college roommate periodically in spite of the fact we nearly kill each other living together.

I have a couple of friends from college that I see periodically. It is like we never were apart when we get together. We may live 1000s of miles apart, but we are still close in heart and mind.

Given the snow here today, it is a bit early for a plant sale here. {*grin*}

Like Yankee Girl said, the price variations amaze me. The houses I saw in Cleveland were twice the size for what could be bought in Massachusetts

Glad you had fun with your friends.

I love visiting with old friends. Hooray for you!

Houses are like that around here, also. If you buy out in the country you can get twice the house for half the price.

Rant: I can't believe it's Wednesday already. Wednesday is my Friday and my week days are all messed up.

Maybe the Hubs should sleep on the couch tonight?
;)
Hope you get some sleep soon!

Hugs!!

I'm with you; it really is great to see old friends. Especially the ones that you go years without seeing and pick right back up!

Woopsy - I was trying out your widget thingy, then I read your blog about what it's for!!!

I'm the kind of girl that gets a new product, takes it from the box, tries to work it.. and THEN reads the instructions.

Please forgive me... I have just discovered you... I like you (not in a single-white-female-disturbing-movie kind of way)... I also have the same wallpaper as you (I repeat, not in a single-white-female-disturbing-movie kind of way) so my guess is we have similar tastes... we certainly have similar quirky sense of humour!

Lovely to have (virtually) met you!

I get the not calling back...Angers me!! I have been waiting on two calls and both are important! Just call back its not hard! I have a rant, people who are always late, i spent my friday lunch waiting 40mins on a business client turning up who i was giving a lot of work to to help them. Plus they had no reason or an apology. Manners people!
