Rant and Rave Wednesday

Wednesday, September 2, 2009....

Any readers following me on a regular basis know if it's Wednesday, it's time to Rant and Rave about the past week. Without further adieu, here are my Rants and Raves from the past week:

Rave: The weather. Yesterday was the PERFECT day. Sunny, bright blue skies and 66 degrees. Not one ounce of humidity. Today another perfect day.

Rant: Why do people ask me for favors, but ask another person for the same? Seriously, if you ask me to do something, particularly a time consuming project, don't forget and ask someone else. It's obnoxious.

Rave: Two of my friends got jobs (yes, I have several friends out of work). Yay for them! One of my friends told me that things happened in threes. I quickly reminded him it was death and not jobs that happened in threes. We both had a very good laugh.

Rant: I've been horrible at responding to comments. I read them all and appreciate what everyone has to say, but I've been a slacker. I plan on working on that.

Rant: My arch nemesis, bunny, doesn't appear to be around anymore. You'd think I'd be happy, but I think the local cat (the one that pees in my flower bed) took care of him ...and not in a polite manner ---no cat showing bunny to the door (so-to-speak).

Rave: New gadget to help me with the abundance of zucchini I have. One of the blogs I read The Actor's Diet showed pictures of the Paderno Spiral Vegetable Cutter. This contraption makes perfect spaghetti noodles. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. No seeds, easy to use, easy clean up. Seriously, if you have an abundance zucchini (you can use other veggies) check out the pics from The Actor's Diet blog and go to Amazon and order it.

That's it for me. Any Rants and Raves you want to share? I would love to hear them. Matty's Thoughts, Green Eyed Momster and A Day in the Life of Bambi have posted her own R&R Wednesday. Check it out. That's it for me. Any Rants and Raves you want to share? I would love to hear them.

Aww! Although I am glad the bunny problem is resolved, 'tis very sad to think of him being disposed in such a horrible way. Hopefully he's just moved on to different gardens, by way of his own feet and not the cat's!

I'm sure you'll be the next one who gets a job! Someone came in and asked for my job right in front of me the other day. Sorry, sucker! Only if I win the lottery, can you have it!

Poor bunny!

I am finding it harder to keep up with my comments! I follow a lot of blogs!!!!!

Your Rant about doubling on favours asked? I so totally agree. Besides time-consuming it makes a fool out of one and that's worse than thoughtless, its unkind. Being unkind is NOT ok.

La La La Leah said...

its suppose to be a touch cooler here this weekend.... But we have a horrible air quality right now due to some wild fires around us... YUCK. That is pretty sad about the bunny. I feel bad. I do.

Helen McGinn said...

Ooh, I may just go buy that right now!

Mark said...

It is so refreshing to see someone balance out their rants with raves!

Sophie said...

Rave: Your Rant and Rave Wednesday always make me smile. I like that you always manage to balance out the negatives with some great positives, which is something I have trouble with.

Rant: This week is absolutely crawling, which makes me hate my job even more. The holiday weekend can't get here fast enough!

Yummy. I love zucchini! Mmmm zucchini bread. I know I totally spelled that wrong. I always forget how.

Candice said...

My rant?

I'm a lazy ass and I really should work out more. I used to make it a daily part of my routine. I always had alot of energy and I felt great. Now I just sit around all day dressing my animals up in ridiculous outfits, and stuff my face with chocolate covered peanuts.

I love the happening in 3's, it's usually bad things in our house that went in 3's but maybe good things in 3 would be a nice uplifting thing.

Little sad about the bunny, darn peeing kitty :).

I hear you on commenting back, i try so hard to stop by everyone's blog and say hi or at least email back but some days!

Ok this spiralizer sounds amazing, I'll have to check it out. I just wish my zucchini went like gang busters sadly not so this year ;(.

I miss the bunny already.

Rave: Had some yummy tomato soup at Panera's today.

Rave: Contractor dropped off a microwave for me to use during kitchen redo.

Rave: 3 day weekend coming up.

Rant: None for now....

Darn it! I forgot about R&R!! Hopefully, I will remember next week. Thanks for that link to the zucchini thing-I have a friend for whom that would make a perfect gift!

Rants - Still no rain.

Rave - I swam 28 laps at the YMCA today. Felt so good.

Ink Obsession Designs said...

Oooh...I so cannot stand when someone asks me to do something and then asks someone else to do it too!

Badass Geek said...

I despise those who ask me for a favor, only to find that someone else has done it already once I prepare to do it. SO aggravating.

JennyMac said...

Love that bunny is gone!

And I love perfect weather days! Cheers to great raves.

Farnnay said...

I completely agree about people asking for favors. its so freaking annoying.

rxBambi said...

Rave: I love that you started Rant and Rave Wednesday and that you like that we do it too!

Rave: Thanks for the shout-out!

Rant: Ummm, none at the moment ;)

Have to agree on the weather. Fall is coming!

The cat may or may not have much to do with the missing bunny - I usually look to the owls and birds of prey to find missing rabbits. Rabbits have been known to eviscerate domestic cats with their back leg kicks.

Ne England Girl - I'm hoping the same! :-)

Actor's Diet - It's awesome. I love your blog and crack up @ th twitter postings of what celebs eat.

Sunshine Mama - The past few days have definitely made me foget my troubles

erin - Definitely get one - you won't be sorry.

a Corgi - I'm sorry for the bunny too. What great Raves you have!

matty- PSVC - ummm, what does that mean?

Green Eyed - OMG that is too funny and you to give the person credit for being so forward. Okay, maybe not.

L, L & Lola - Now you need to share who has put you on Cloud 9.

Otin - I've noticed. I feel as I'm stalking you because many times your comment is before mine.

Heckety - This favor was very time consuming.

La la - I hope it cools down for you. I feel badly about the bunny too.

Helen - You should!

Mark - I try.

Noelle - Your week is crawling because you know you have a holiday weekend ahead.

Patty - Try putting a layer of Nutella in the zucchini bread batter when filling your baking trays. My husband did it the other day, I thought him nuts, but it was very YUMMY.

Candice - but your photos make me crack up - you can't stop.

Alexis - The 3s are usually only associated with bad things. Sorry abou the zucchini, but you can make curly fries for the kids.

DB - Yay no Rants!

Mrs. 4444 - I'll ping you next Tuesday about R&R. The zucchini tool is great.

Midlife - Wow - 28 laps -that is AWESOME!

inkOBSESSION - worst part is that I usually am speechless when I've done the work and find out I did it for nothing.

Badass - Aggravating is an understatement.

JennyMac - Happy bunny is gone if it relocated on own.

Constructive - totally agree.

rxBambi - I love people do the R&R and I love reading them. However, you forgot to rave that you're going to Blog Camp.

Dan - You could be right. Lots of hawks are in the area, but why can't they take the many annoying squirrels in my yard instead.

Hi there! This is my first time to your blog and just wanted to say I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Little Ms Blogger said...

Matty - LOL. I thought it was something like Positive blah, blah, blah. I never remember the name of the contraption.

Tasha - Thanks. I appreciate the kind words and will come visit.

La La La Leah said...

Thank you for your blog and comments you leave on mine... Maybe next Thursday I will be thankful for you and all your help! I guess we will never know. ;)

Paderno Spiral cutter! This must be what the vegan chick on "Secrets lives of women" was usingg when she made her vegan pasta!

Genius!

XOXO MG

Little Ms Blogger said...

La La - hmmm I think you're pulling my leg.

Joanna - I never quite understood people that do this.

Midtown Girl - so do you think I have a shot of being on T.V? Wait, I'm not a lesbian or woman in prison.....I'm not exciting enough to have a secret life.

I have a rare rant:

If you're going to give me a very complicated project to do, 2 days before I go on holiday, please tell me it's no longer required before I stay late on my last day at work to complete it!

I feel better now. Thanks for having me. :)

Little Ms Blogger said...

Matthew - HOW ANNOYING. Good thing you're on vacation.....

Andrea said...

Oh, the bunny again. I agree with Dan; probably something bigger than a house cat took full grown bunny away. At risk of sounding horrible, I noticed my ravenous rabbit problem seems to be much better this summer, and I think I know why: there is a colony of Feral Cats living across the street, and I know for a fact they eat baby bunnies...and I'm sorry, but I'm glad my veges are still standing and rabbits are scarce this year. (I never saw the carnage, otherwise I might not feel that way.) More cats please!!

Little Ms Blogger said...

Erin P - Ahhh...I saw the bunny yesterday - happy, but also sad that he is doing number on brussel sprouts again.
