Holiday Conversations

Monday, November 9, 2009....

With the holidays right around the corner, I am wondering what the topic of conversation will be this year at the Thanksgiving table.

In the past, we have discussed the side effects of drinking soy milk. I didn't realize this, but apparently it enlarges the size of a woman's breasts. Who knew. I didn't.

Past Christmases the family would play the game "Mystery Date" and every time someone got the nerd at the front door, they have to drink a shot.

Recently, YogaGirl told me about a website that is just gross. Pop That Zit is all about squeezing zits, draining sinus infections and other things -- so gross, but like a car accident you are sucked into their videos and keep watching when you should turn your head.

After going through the website with YogaGirl on the phone, I knew our other sister, the nurse, would love it. We emailed her the link and she LOVED it. Loved it is an understatement.

I'm hoping she has forgotten all about this website when Thanksgiving comes around. Puss + turkey = gross dinner.

Whaaaaaaaaat?

I've heard soy milk only enlarges mens breast.

**I've been putting it in my coffee for years with this hope (I'm a woman, I know confusing)

We're spending Thanksgiving at the home of my sister-in-law in another state. Since we don't see them very often, I expect that the conversation will mostly be about everyone's families. And I'm sure a little of this and that.

That's gross!

Eeew.
Excuse me while I go drink my soy milk now...

I hate soy milk but if it fills my boobs up, I might go for it!

Melanie's Randomness said...

So soy milk really does that?? Hmmmmm....(Mental note: go to the store). =)

I love holiday conversations with the family too. They wander everywhere.

EW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pop that zit sounds totally gross.

oh, and soy milk has faux chemicals that act like estrogen, hence the increased estrogen-like chemicals floating around your body

I haven't experienced that.. but that's what I've heard.

P.S. I am a totally new blogger, and I’d love for you to come by and check out my blog!

Yeah, I read about that regarding soy milk... Not only makes your boobs bigger, but enlarges your belly and slows down your thyroid and metabolism. Unfermented soy in general is estrogenic, and one of the possible causes of male sterility. Not pretty. I personally avoid soy as if it was poison.

That is an interesting info about soy milk... hmmmmmm, I guess I better stock up on soy milk from now on. LOL :-)

I usually spend my Thanksgiving just wishing everyone would go home!

I am suppressing the overwhelming urge to go to Pop That Zit.

Your conversations are more interesting. I'm coming to your house!

This year maybe the topic will be how the Pilgrims intermarried with the Indians?

i wish I could get into a time machine and go back to tell myself not to read the part about the zit popping website. i can't stop watching those sick, sick videos now. what kind of yoga chick is spreading around zit snuff sites?

Soy milk make your breast bigger? I thought I'd been feeling a little tender lately.

Spot said...

I don't know about the soy milk stuff. I just think it tastes gross.

And I'm for sure hoping that our Thanksgiving convo does not include zit popping. Eeeewww.

Have you mentioned before that not only do we have odd holiday discussions, but that we like to move holidays around to suit our needs? I need to check that soy milk thing out since I really drink mostly that now. I don't really need my boobs to be any bigger.

Tracie said...

I can't stand that site. It's too disgusting.

rxBambi said...

I don't need bigger boobs, I just need them to point the right direction... will soy milk help that??????

Stacey J. Warner said...

Is that why my boobs are bigger? LOL! I was wondering...

much love

LOL, but at least everyone feels comfortable talking about things like this; I've been at placed where conversations are soooo stiffled; I'd enjoy conversations like this for sure :)

I spend my Thanksgiving thinking about how many miles I will have to walk on the treadmill to make up for gorging myself.

And one of my newphews usually farts at the table and makes everyone laugh.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm now a new follower of yours!

I drank soy milk for years...and the outcome of my research is that the above statement is not true. Oh...sad but true. LOL.

What is a holiday dinner without some gross-out talk?

Unknown said...

Just avoid the soy stuffed zitty turkeys and all will be well. {*grin*}

The topics of conversation for our Thanksgiving will depend on the fettle of some of my long winded uncles - the topics are unpredictable in advance. Past performances have included sex on the road from the long-haul trucker, random birthing and farrowing stories from the farmer, and special guest orations from the alcoholic party girl aunt as the day progresses.

Unsure yet whether T-Day will be here or over at mom's house. That's one battle I just duck and run for cover when I see it coming.

I had not heard this about soy milk. Must go to grocery store. In fact I've never had it. How does it taste?

Lacochran – Exactly. Hadn’t a clue either but I know nothing about soy milk because I don’t drink it.

Maritinis or Diaper Genies? -- Hmmm….the conversation started when talking about transsexuals (should I mention my 80 year mother and 83 year father were at the table) so this could be why it came up.

Matty- That sounds like very pleasant. An unexpected change for my family.

Deborah – Which? The soy milk or the url? Url is GROSS…

Living & Loving – LOL….

Blueviolet – I hate soy milk, but luckily don’t have that problem.

Melanie’s Randomness – Not sure. Don’t drink it, but 2 people at the table heard this fact.

Serena from Style on a String – It is totally gross, especially the video of pudding neck. I will come check out your blog. Thanks for coming by.

Titania – I’m glad I don’t drink it. Wow. Interesting factoids about soy. Thanks for sharing.

Leah – LOL

Otin – Mental note – never visit Otin on Thanksgiving. I’m the host so I sometimes hide in the kitchen and manage to avoid a lot of the day.

Unknown Mami - If you go, make sure you go to pudding neck – you’ll never go back.

Jules – Okay. You and the barbies are always welcome

Secretia – Ohhhh…that is a good one.

CarrieBeth – LOL – did you realize there is music to the videos which is JUST WRONG. YogaGirl, aka my sister, has a warped side to her and I agree with you.

Captain Dumbass – Just imagine how many men would drink it if it were known to enlarge the penis.

Spot – I’m with. I think it is gross

DB – No, but you just did. You’re right – your boobs don’t need more soy milk.

Kys – Isn’t it. Aren’t you glad I shared it with you?

rxBambi – Right direction? Is that up or to the side?

Staceyjwarner – LOL….could be.

That corgi - Sometimes I don’t think my family knows the word boundary.

Sincerely, Jenni – LOL. I cook so by the time I sit to eat, I don’t want to. Okay, the farting nephew is very funny. I’d laugh too.

Jenny Mac – LOL. Sorry to hear that.

Badass Geek – Gross-out talk is okay AFTER I have a full belly. Not during.

Dan – Wow….your family conversations could give my family a run for the money. Although, it is a good way to see if someone new can survive the family.

Helen – LOL….

Brian Miller – Note to self – find out if soy milk works on southern parts of a guy

Goose - I think it is gross.

I think I'm going to switch to soy - LOL!

I think that site would give me nightmares so I'm not even gonna try checking it out ;-)

And looking forward to reading about what this year's dinner convo will be!

Soy milk? REALLY?? :O

Brian O'Mara-Croft said...

I just couldn't bring myself to check out the zit-popping site. I can't afford to replace my keyboard when I launch last night's dinner across it.

Cheers,
Brian

If you did shots of soy milk maybe you wouldn't end up with the nerd in Mystery Date ;0)

I'm off to get me some soy milk!!

Now wait a minnit. Wouldn't soy milk be most popular in Asian countries? At the risk of painting with a broad brush here, Asian women aren't stereotypically large-breasted, and Asian men aren't stereotypically sterile (from an earlier comment).
