Last night, I had a dream in which Carl Jung came to me. I can't remember what he said, but remembered to google him this morning.
Prior to googling him, I knew him to be an equivalent to Freud in the psychology (note: I'm not saying one theorist is better than the other, just they are respected man in the field of psychology).
Turns out Jung is the father of analytical psychology (also known as Jungian psychology). What really caught my eye is that he emphasized understanding one's psyche through exploring the worlds of dreams, art, mythology, religion and philosophy.
I didn't know this and I find it bizarre that he came to me in a dream.
So....how did you sleep? Any unusual dreams?

Years ago I was a big fan of Carl Jung, and I read Psychology Today and studied every bit of psychology out there. I was a mom raising three kids and I thought it would help me. I would encourage the kids to tell me their dreams and we would talk about them and get to know each other by telling about our dreams. For them it was more of a game, but we did learn much about each other with our little game/exercise. My dream last night was me walking down a rustic path, trees on both sides of the wide dirt and rocky path and I was watching myself from behind but it was endless walking. Kinda boring though in the light of day though huh.
Carl Jung?? That is a lil weird. I have weird dreams every night. And I remember them too so it usually freaks me out. heh.
I've studied Jung a bit and his theories are quite fascinating.
i gotta say that i was incredibly impressed that i even remembered he was a psychologist at all!
Very impressive dream, Little Ms Blogger! I have weird dreams all the time. I wish I could figure out how to get all the answers that I need in my dreams. That would be cool!
Hugs!!
I had a dream the other night that a guy came into me while I was sleeping. It was so real too...
Secretia
My dreams have no smart characters at all. I travel the night with idiots. :(
How did you know it was Carl Jung? Was he wearing a name tag or did he introduce himself?? Because I don't think I'd recognize him on sight and if you did I'm like totally way impressed. Freud I might recognize just because I've seen more pics of him. That is a totally cool dream. Mine are usually wacky and completely unconstructive.

That is.... odd.

Never been visited by the psychological crowd in my dreams. Sometimes by scientists, but never by the others.
As to how I slept - warmly under the blanket. {*grin*}
I have had unusual dreams but I love that Jung came to you and you didn't really know who he was...that is fantastic.
Jung is AMAZING...Joseph Campbell studied Jung. I've read lots of Jung.
Explore some more...
much love
Not me personally, but other bloggers keep telling me I was in their dreams...
AWESOME SAUCE>
very interesting; I'm not really sure about dreams and interpretations of them but very interesting
I slept very nicely thank you except for a certain corgi pup hogging my side of the bed :)
betty
Never heard of the guy???
I remember not caring very much for Jung in college, and now that I am older I find myself agreeing with him more.
A co-worker & I had a conversation about Jung vs Freud a few days ago. She is taking a course as part of her degree.
It's funny how something isn't mentioned at all then all of a sudden it pops up everywhere.
Wow...that dream is so much more intellectual than my dreams!
I don't remember my dreams anymore. I
sleep so poorly that it feels like I haven't slept at all.
I have very unusual dreams. Things that happen there are not based in reality. I've had them my entire life.
I remember one I had when I was about 10 years old. A t-rex dinosaur walked up to my 2nd floor bedroom window and talked to me.
My dreams always involve completely unrealistic events.
I usually have very vivid dreams that I remember quite well. Unless I've had an Ambien, then no dreams, just la la land.
I don't remember much about my psyche classes, what did you learn while googling?
Wow, that's quite... interesting?! I never remember full dreams; only snippets and little, fuzzy details. It's unfortunate, I guess, but it removes a lot of the worrying some people do and tons of the confusion. :)
Dreaming about Jung, that's pretty weird. Recently I had a dream about a dreaming about something else. It was weird. I shouldn't eat before bed.
Nothing as strange as Carl Jung......
at the moment, i'm dreaming about things i can't have. like apples. and kellan lutz. not necessarily at the same time...
I had a dream this afternoon while taking a nap about my grandma.
She died before my grandpa died. But in the dream, she came back and was like a power sales woman for these condos that your family pays to put their older parents in.
Maybe I dreamed that because my dad just got out of the hospital for heart failure. He's doing fine now, but it was pretty tense before he went in.
You always have interesting dreams. Maybe I need to google Carl too.
Have a nice weekend!
Yesterday I found a recipie for my grandma's pasta on an Italian blog (I blogged about it) and last night I dreamed about making her pasta from scratch. I never once had the desire to try pasta making before. This morning, I started looking for pasta makers online and can't wait to try to make it. Then, today, hubby asked me what I might like for Christmas, and I hinted at it....and he hinted right back that he had already gotten it for me. How about that? A man who knew my dream before I had it? What about that, Carl Jung!
I hardly ever remember my dreams. But I slept like a baby last night, thank you. :-)
No good dreams here! And Jung has never paid me a visit but he has a book store near my home :-)
xo

I don't recall any dreams for the past couple of nights. Sometimes they get kind of freaky though.
