Rant and Rave Wednesday

Wednesday, August 11, 2009...

Any readers following me on a regular basis know if it's Wednesday, it's time to Rant and Rave about the past week. Without further adieu, here are my Rants and Raves from the past week:

Rant: I was catching up on the blogs I follow this morning and read a recurring nightmare - Blogger lost people's follow list. I felt their pain because it happened to me last Thursday for a few hours. However, at 8:00 a.m., Blogger did the same nasty thing to me and ERASED ALL MY BLOGS I FOLLOW. Blogger, I'm so hating you at the moment.

Rave: This came from my garden

Rant: Poison Ivy on my wrists also came from my garden.

Rave: I won fabulous awards from Constructive Attitude and Edder which I will post about in a separate entry.

Rave: No crazy people in grocery stores or grocery store parking lots. Oh wait, haven't had to shop this week. I think that is the true Rave -- not grocery shopping.

Rave: My 87 year old father, Spidey Man, wasn't able to scale 2 stories and climb in a window.

Rant: New scale is mean. It doesn't register what I want to see. Damn thing tells me the truth. Go figure. A day of bad eating, okay several, would register on the scale.

Rant: My sister mentioned today that in 6 months, Curling in the Olympics starts up. I told her to shut her pie hole about this. She knows the rules. No talk about Curling in the Olympics until she actually plays it.

That's it for me. Any Rants and Raves you want to share? I would love to hear them. Green Eyed Momster has posted her own R&R Wednesday. Check it out.

"No crazy people in grocery stores or grocery store parking lots. Oh wait, haven't had to shop this week. I think that is the true Rave -- not grocery shopping" I have to second that! Since my store closed, I hate grocery shopping.

Sorry about the poison ivy but the flowers are beautiful!

Regarding your scale, I was PMSing a while back and my post title was I F-ing Hate My Scale. Seriously. Some days I do. I get 3 different readings though within minutes. I always go with the lowest reading!

My list is back today and I copied it so I won't go total psycopath the next time it disappears. When they come back go to manage and copy your list if you want back-up!

I could do a Rant and Rave post every day. Thanks for the idea!

Hugs!!

haha, I like your Rant & Rave idea, it's very entertaining =)

I don't bother with "following". I just use the Google Reader. It's remarkably dependable.

Yup! keeping your Spidey-Dad on the ground should count as a whole week of raves I'd say...maybe you should start a rating system!!!

Rant - this effing summer cold I picked up from somewhere

Rant - that my lottery strategy has not kicked in yet

Rave - lottery jackpot up quite high - chance of winning is as slim as ever but a girl can dream

Rave - wearing pretty new shoes

Rave - sunny weekend forcasted! Double fisting cocktails and sitting in the sun

Beautiful flowers and you are soo lucky to not have to grocery shop!

Rave: Fabulous new tote bag

Rant: Fabulous new tote bag is very heavy from hauling hard drive and work home every night

When you are dealing with a scale, isn't it amazing how a 4 oz. cupcake translates to 3 lbs on a scale? LOL! I feel your pain!

Optimistic Pessimist said...

gasp...i am horrified to read what blogger did to you. that's terrible. did you get it back? or did you have to go refind the blogs you follow?

There's that talk about curling again. I will need to research this.

Unknown said...

Go Curling! {*grin*}

I have to agree that the wierd responses from blogger and other Google properties to the twitter DDOS attacks is strange. Hopefully they will get it all straightened out sooner or later. (That is what makes the follow list appear and disappear at seeming random.)

lynn said...

blogger had a lot of problems today....grrr!!!

DB said...

Rave: Winter Olympics starts in 6 months. Let the curling begin! How many sports could the average Joe Schmoe take up and earn an Olympic medal? THAT's what I'm talkin' about, La La La Leah! Rhythmic gymnastics - same thing - give me a stick and a ribbon, I'm there.

Rant: Sat next to negative person at dinner tonight. Hadn't seen her in a while. Forgot how much I hated her negative vibe. Annoying.

My scale sucks as well. I keep buying new ones but they all tell the same lie.

I think it's just a conspiracy!

I keep a folder on my bookmark page with the blogs I love & follow. This way I don't have to rely on blogger!

Sounds like a pretty mild week. Must be those dog days of summer. It does seem to be dragging on - even though I love it.

Okay, I've got my R&R post ready for next week Wednesday. I'll be adding to it here and there throughout the week. Very satisfying :)

Time to get a Reader. Mine has never failed me, except that, like your scale, it always tells the blasted truth, such as, "5 bajillion unread posts."

those flowers are beauuuutifl!

I love curling. You know why? Because it's the only Olympic sport I could participate in that probably wouldn't require a vigorous exercise regime to prepare for it.

Rant: Blogger did that shit to me the other day too!

Rave: I'm only working a half day tomorrow!
