Rant and Rave Wednesday

Wednesday, December 23, 2009...

Any readers following me on a regular basis know if it's Wednesday, it's time to Rant and Rave about the past week. Without further adieu, here are my Rants and Raves from the past week:

Rant: Shopper in a Walmart parking lot. The Walmart by my house is in a plaza that includes a liquor store, Staples and Japanese restaurant. I was going to the liquor store and parked far away from Walmart. I'm in my car, about to leave (back up lights on) when a Walmart shopper (parked next to me) decides to open her car door. To get to her car she would have seen the lights, but if she hadn't, she definitely saw me in the car. She was taking her time (she wasn't pulling out yet) and I saw I could back out without hitting her or the minivan. I'm slowly pulling out and bump into something. Her cart. No damage, but really? How do you miss the back-up lights? Why not put the cart on the other side of your van WHERE - THERE - WAS - NO - OTHER -CAR? She moved slowly to move the cart.

Rave: I went to Walmart on Saturday morning to pick up a present and no one was there. I also called them prior to ensure they had the game I wanted and they did. I was surprised they picked up the phone, but they did.

Rave: The fun dream I had last night. I dreamt I set up Justin Timberlake and Oprah. They were having an engagement party and I was invited. I was wearing these shoes (most uncomfortable and ugly) and every fashion magazine was snapping a picture of my feet as I became a trendsetter. This dream cracked me up. I like comfortable shoes, rarely shoe shop and could care less about them (I can imagine all the people cringing at this comment -- also, I'm in yoga pants and slippers at the moment). Best part is waking up with the song SexyBack in my head. Very fun song to start the day with (no, I don't have an alarm clock that plays music).

Rant: Listening to a store salesman yell at a customer (the store had only been open for 15 minutes) instead of walking 10 feet to help her. All I heard was "yes, that bookshelf, now further down, no further, to your right" it was a bit longer and actually made giggle and fear help from this guy as he was a screamer and very hyper.

Rant: Christmas season wouldn't be complete without one rant about drivers on the road. This one is about the entitled driver. The person that thinks I'm too good to wait in the line of cars to go straight so I'll zip up in the left turn lane and cut off people because I'm too important to wait. Yeah, these people suck.

Rave: Christmas shopping done and we got our tacky gifts. One is tacky and made us both laugh - can you say perfect?

That's it for me. Okay, I'm in the process of chopping and simmering so very little time to think. But I would love to hear if you have any Rants and Raves you want to share? I would love to read them. Just click on the linky thing for anyone that wants to participate in Rant and Rave Wednesday -- or leave them in the comments section here. Please be respectful and do not use the linky thing if you are just promoting your blog (yes, this is another Rant of mine).

Now I have the song Sexy Back in my head but that's OK because I need a little pick me up today to finish my shopping and cooking.

Merry Christmas to you and your family. Enjoy your holiday.

WalMart in general should be a RANT. They are just evil!!!! They treat their employees like crap and sell horrible goods. Plus they make soldiers oversees pay international shipping charges. Amazon and Target don't.

I hate WalMart.

I have seen so many awful disputes about parking spaces at the stores and malls. It makes me want to sop online.

RANT/S:
*Folks leaving carts in the parking lots to roam all over!! Especially when so close to the cart collection area or IN a parking space.
*Holiday shoppers and drivers who think they are more important than I or who have decided to take me along on their brush with death!!

RAVE:
*My lovely blogger friends who keep informed, amused and inspired daily.

People post their name on mr linky when their not doing rant and rave? That is just stupid. It would make me not want to visit their blogs. I'm totally with you on that rant!!

"I went to Walmart on Saturday morning to pick up a present and no one was there." That's hard for me to believe that! Maybe you're in the Twilight Zone! ;) I've never seen an empty Walmart, especially on a SATURDAY!!
Cut the Salesman some slack this time of year. Most shoppers are like the gal who left her cart behind your car. Yep, IMO some jobs should require some kind of drug or alcohol use to show up!! LOL!!
I thought I was going to witness a horrible accident yesterday. Someone was doing just what you described with slipper roads to boot. They do suck.

I'm not participating this week. I hope to have a lot of Raves after Christmas. Hopefully, anyway!
Enjoy yourself and your family. Hope your Christmas is Merry!
(Thanks for brining Sexy Back!!)
Hugs and love,
T

Rant: My house is a mess...wait can that count as a rant if it happens all the time?

Hmm....

Rave: My husband has a stash of treats that he brings to work for any of his co-workers to eat if they're hungry. They all chipped in and got him a gift card to the local grocery store.

Walmart parking is crazy. But that lady just sounds obnoxious.

Merry Christams! I'm looking for a picture of that dinner you made.

I think my blog has been rant-heavy the last few posts, although I am a bonafide Walmart hater. Why must everyone in Walmart drive their carts over my feet?

Merry Christmas!!

Rave- I like seeing the world!
Rant- I wish that I had a heater in the damned sled!

(Where did that dream come from?)

Isn't the WalMart parking lot a rant by definition?

I am always in awe of people who ignore the acres of empty spaces more that ten paces from the front door to do battle with 15 others for the one close in. And I don't mean awe in the sense of admiration either - I mean awe in the sense of completely stunned.

holiday shopping with no one in the store or parking lot - that's a huge rave

Oh, I am SO with you on the shoe thing. I have very few pairs and live to wear sneakers!

I could rant on, but my big rant is still feeling sick and coughing. All I want for Christmas is to feel well!

I used to be such a shoe person but lately my feet are never comfortable unless they are bare or in flip flops.
Suck it Walmart!!!!
