I've decided to make Thursdays my "Question of the Week" day because I always have questions and am always interested in people's answers.
This Week's Question is from my husband. I've given him permission to come up with any stupid question he feels like asking. Today's question is: Do you think water comes out of the hole of someone with a lower lip piercing?
Last night we were watching some program that had a guy with a piercing under his lower lip and hubby blurts out loud: Do you think when he is drinking something water comes out through the hole?.
Needless to say, I looked at him and just shook my head. However, because he remembered that he gets to ask any question for the month of June on my blog, he said this was the question he wanted to pose to anyone who was willing to read this post.
I think he believes because people have commented that he is genius with dating tips, they may think him brilliant with this question.
Personally, I have a feeling the next two questions could get worse. Wait. Is that even possible?

I'd suspect it depends on the position of the head and the quantity of liquid gulped at one time.
Inquiring minds want to know - do people with such piercings leak drool as they sleep?
Dan - okay, that just left me with a horrible picture - dried drool on an earring. YUCK...
really an intriguing question...i dont have a hole in my lip and water stil comes out sometimes...so...i am guessing yes, but then at least i would have an excuse so maybe i need to get one...for scientific reasons of course...
so any more cheap date ideas? smiles.
I think that if the earring is in place it pretty much fills up the hole, but if not, watch out, drip, drip.
I used to have lip rings, and I can tell you that water did not come out of the hole when they weren't in.
Although I did have a small gauge. I guess if you had like an 8 gauge in there and took it out then water might come out. Then again, I can't imagine why anyone would ever have such a huge piece of metal in their lip.
Well, I have a nose piercing and when I have the stud out, no SNOT comes out of it. And I'm fairly sure if I put water up there, it wouldn't either. But I don't know if a lower lip would act differently!
I have definitely heard that snot comes out of nose holes, so I'm guessing the answer is a definite yes.
I'm gonna go with NO. But I don't think lower lip piercings are ALL that attractive....
Eh, it's doubtful.

Nope, no water comes out. But that's just my opinion. Not that I know from personal experience or anything.
My guess is no, but it would be funny to watch.
Interesting question. If water doesn't drip out naturally, could someone deliberately squirt it out? Like a squirt-gun... or is that too gross for words?
I'm far from a piercing expert, but I'm going to agree with Salt and say that it depends on the size of the gauge.
I think if gulped then forced through with pressure then yes it would leak, and I've just realized I put way too much thought into this question.
Oh yeah, I bet they can leak. Not necessarily now, when the guy's young, but when these kids with all the holes in their faces get older and their skin looses its elastin, you betcha! I bet he'll have to come up with a way of drinking where his tongue keeps the hole from leaking!

It seems like the obvious answer would be no... otherwise how could they ever drink cranberry juice while wearing a white shirt?!
I'm not really sure but it would be very cool if you could force liquid out of it. Sort of like a squirt gun. It would come in very handy for people who tick you off.
