I've decided to make Thursdays my "Question of the Week" day because I always have questions and am always interested in people's answers.
This Week's Question: What is your guilty pleasure?
Everyone has one. Admit it. You may not be the type who enjoys being tied to the bedpost or cross dressing, but you may read romance novels without admitting it. But you may hide a stash of chocolate so other family members can't have any.
For me, I have many. Yes, many (I actually did a post on 10 guilty pleasures in 2008 and most hold true to this day 10 Guilty Pleasures).
I've added some new ones since 2008 and have to admit I read Outside magazine even though I know it will never have any relevance in my everyday life. It just makes me smile knowing that someone out there loves to do this stuff.
T.V. shows....well, I mentioned my love of reality shows, but want to call out 2 new ones (or my latest fascination).
My husband has me hooked to some shows on TruTV like Southern Fried (PIs in the South that combine an element from the tv show COPS because the people being surveyed, are dumb as a bricks) and Operation Repo (this needs no explanation).
Trust me, these shows, my latest guilty pleasures, do nothing to stimulate any brain cell activity. BUT....it does make laugh. Eventually, I'll get bored with the stupidity and find a new guilty pleasure show.
So. What's your guilty pleasure? What would your friends be surprised to learn about you?

I think any guilty pleasure I am able to say openly has to do with food or at least something I put into my mouth like my coffee. I love love my coffee. And chocolate. With nuts. And nachos. Ah yes.
Firstly i love your blog! secondly to answer your question my guilt pleasures include anything sung by billy joel and black and white movies.
i will watch anything on TCM even the intrviews that they have on the movies themselves. You should see my excitment when Gigi comes on... i know all the words to the songs and everything!
Lifetime Movie Network Movies. I'm so embarrassed to admit I watch them, but I swear that the "scary" ones actually have decent plots. Also pistachios w/the salted shell. I know the salt is really really bad for me, but I'm so addicted to those.
♥Spot
I always loved those Sunday Night TV movies - which are pretty much all the Lifetime movies now. Spot's comment reminded me of that.
My friends are shocked that I watch Real Housewives of Orange County. Andy likes it too. But we are discerning even with our guilty pleasures - I don't watch any of the other Housewives spinoffs - they're just trash ;0)
I love reality TV too!
My guilty pleasure is Taco Bell. I'm giving in today for lunch. Can't wait.
Guilty Pleasures: margaritas, reality shows, and old school Nintendo games.
I think you probably already know mine: It's wine. duh. but sometimes I feel guilty about it because it's kinda fattening and expensive...
My guilty pleasures are chocolate (any sweets, really), coffee, and all kinds of tv shows.
Ack, I can't answer this. I've always hated the term "guilty pleasure." I like what I like and make no apologies for it. Air Supply, Xanadu, trash TV...these are things that people want me to feel bad about liking, but I don't.
blogging...hello. lol.
TechnoBabe – Nachos are soooooo yummy. I can see why you love them!
Constar – Thanks for the compliment. Billy Joel is also perfect music for karaoke. You can understand the words (vs the Bee Gees) and most everyone in a room knows the words to most of his songs and can drown you out.
Spot – You have the LMN station – you’re a lucky woman! Most people forget how educational Lifetime movies can be. I mean, where else do you learn how to murder your husband in an entertaining way (I’m thinking old Judith Light movies)
The Bumbles – I watch Housewives of NY – I used to watch them all, but have dropped Atlanta and NJ. I plan on dropping the OC this season (I’m trying to cut down on trashy reality tv --- it’s not working, but I do try).
Melanie’s Randomness – LOL. Taco Bell is a fav of my sister’s, but I find half the food comes out of the taco shell in one bite.
Herding Cats – I LOVED Zelda!!!!!
rxBambi – LOL. Yes I do.
Tracie - All good pleasures!
BeckEye – LOL – You never had the Catholic guilt issue. Air Supply? Really? That was my 1st album given to me as a sweet 16th birthday gift.
Brian – Oh, yeah.
I have a ton of guilty pleasures, but will only mention my newest one: Boy Meets World reruns. When I was home from work with my broken pelvis I watched hours of Boy Meets World every week. I credit Cory and Shawn for helping me get better so fast.
Now that I am back to work, I told my hubs he needs to get me all of the seasons of Boy Meets World on DVD.
Every once in awhile, I treat myself to a tabloid magazine. Shhh, don't tell anyone.
Old episodes of Lizzie McGuire from the Disney Channel. Some of my friends know...and they think it's very funny.
Computers
Golf
Really bad who-dun-its
My guilty pleasure is lying around watching marathons of things like NCIS or Law and Order SUV....
Reality TV in all forms (although I don't watch all shows) and the Star and the Enquirer. And eavesdropping on other people while out to dinner.
I really don't have any. Of course, I am very attached to booze, drugs, and women, (all at once, or one at a time) but I can give them up any time I want to. Really!
Yankee Girl – How funny. Several years back, I became addicted to Malcolm in the Middle recuperating from a surgery.
Unknown Mami – My sister buys all the tabloids and I laugh everytime she has one in hand because our mother had to have her Star and Enquirer every week.
Heather Taylor - I was fond of Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Dan – shocking. However, if you said it was shopping for new slippers, I know you’d be lying.
PHST – I was devastated when NBC announced the cancellation of L&O (I have a secret crush on Sam).
DB – You have a fine talent at eavesdropping. It is very impressive and I’m jealous of your talent.
Snowbrush – Why would you want to?
