I'm Back from a Blogger's Vacation....

Tuesday, June 1, 2010......

I'm back......

Where did I go? Nowhere.

Why did I take a break? I needed it. I was losing sight of why I started blogging and realized I just needed a break after 2 years.

What did I do on my bloggy break? Well, I went through my reader and discovered I was following a lot of people that were no longer blogging or had made their blog private. How did I not know this? I know. I stopped using my reader. Which makes me sad.

See... I made blogging more of an obligation than a fun outlet to write and read what other great things people were saying. I noticed I was reading many blogs out of obligation instead out of interest. I was commenting on blogs because they commented on mine even when I couldn't relate.

I had to recapture the reason of why I was blogging so I cleaned out my Reader and slowly started reading blogs again that caught my eye. I read many blogs while on blogger vacation, but didn't comment a lot. I just needed to want to regain the desire to blog, as opposed to feeling as though I had to blog.

I'm not sure if I explained why I disappeared well, but it was a good break.

Breaks are needed every once in a while. Since I took my nearly month long break I have had a hard time getting back into the swing of things.

Hopefully you were able to regain some of the fun factor of blogging!

Welcome back! I tend to look at my reader and find a lot of blogs that no longer post, or have gone private as well. I usually try to contact them, but if they don't respond I just remove them from my reader. It just takes up wasted space.

You'll have to let us know if you found something worth checking out.

Happy posting,

I find it a little sad to see those bloggers that have gone bye-bye. I wonder if they're fighting the good fight or struggling on that slippery slope. There's no way to know for certain, but my bet's on the latter for most of them.

Welcome back from your little sabbatical. Hope you're refreshed and ready to roll!

Sometimes, a break is just what the doctor ordered.

Glad you're back.

It's nice to have you back! And it's a good inspiration for me to finally go into my blog reader and do a spring cleaning.

Lindsay – It was great and made me remember exactly why I started blogging!

Salt – Thanks!

Dree – Yes it is and welcome back. You’ve motivated me to go back to WW. I went today – up 4 lbs, but went straight to the gym! 

Brian Miller – I was amazed at how many people deleted their blogs or hadn’t posted in 7 months – I’ll be curious to hear about your findings.

Yankee Girl – Ahhh….you took a break because of injury and sometimes it is harder to get back in the swing of doing ANYTHING…

CaJoh – I’m curious as to why someone stops. I wish they’d leave up their last post to explain it for people like me who come months later to say hello.

Jack Sh*t – I’m definitely ready to roll. I’ve made some other positive changes that I’ll be posting about in some upcoming entries.

I did that in april and it was good. It took a little while for me to get back into it again, but I did (for what it's worth). When it feels like a job then it's not worth doing.
Glad youre back :)

Purging is good for the bloggy soul. It also leads to a more productive real world, giving us more time to spend in it! Nice to see you in the blogosphere again and I'm glad you just took a break to revive and didn't give up your blog.

Everyone needs an occasional break to avoid burnout.

Welcome back!

Welcome back!!! Since I returned to work I have had difficulty reading all of those that I was following; until I realized who was not commenting on my blogs!! THAT made it a little easier...

Glad you had some down time...

Glad you're back on the blogger horse! I missed you. If you weren't addicted to FV this might be easier LOL.

rxBambi – That’s exactly how I was feeling and I remember when you were on break and how difficult it was to get back in the swing of things.

The Bumbles – Thank you.

BV – LOL . I do read yours, but will keep this in mind.

Luna – I had totally forgotten how blogging made me happy.

J.J. – Definitely. It was a great break.

Leslee – that does help!

Jewels Diva – A break from the ENTIRE use of the Internet – hmmm… peaceful thought, but I wonder if I could actually do that?

Adrienne – Thanks!

McGillicutty – It makes a big difference when you do that. If you do clean out the reader, I’d be curious to hear how many left your bloggy world.

Herding Cats – Every month? Wow…you’re good.

DB – Oh, I haven’t given up FV.

I agree that sometimes a sense of perspective is needed, and its hard to get that without standing back...(that's why its call perspective I b'leve!) And when it bocomes just another obligation then its time to re-something or other!
