Ever bite into a piece of food that makes you lick your lips and declare THIS IS THE BEST THING I'VE EVER EATEN? Well....the Green Mochi IS NOT IT for me.
Saturday night, hubby and I were invited to a friend's house for dinner. She was trying out some new recipes, mostly Indian, but with an East Asian dessert -- the MOCHI...
First the first moment I picked up the little green ball I knew I was in for it. I couldn't place my finger on it, but the texture was something I was familiar with. Then I bit into it. The center was filled with dark green stuff -- like puss, but darker (the consistency was the same).
Other dinner guests also weren't loving the Mochi. We discovered we could kind of play with it by stretching it out like Play Doh; the Mochi took on a life of its own.
The one thing that kept nagging me was the outside texture of this snot ball...then....it finally hit me...it felt like Slime, the stuff you got as a kid in the vending machine. Yup. it did.
I apologize to any people who are huge fans of the Mochi. It's just not my thing.

lol. Your descriptions are hilarious!! I've tried it & it kinda tastes like eating a balloon. A very gross filled balloon. Not my cup of tea either!!

I always thought it was shell fish, but it can't be if its dessert...I'll have to look it up...so's I can avoid it. You do make it sound soooo appetising!!!

That looks and sounds dusgusting. I would never eat anything I didn't like, even to be polite.
Those look different then the Mochi I have tried. I get mine at Trader Joe's and the Mango is the best flavor. I like the green tea one but the chocolate and strawberry ones are just okay.
